Tasmanians To-Day a book of Caricatures and cartoons by Alex Gurney. To be published next week. 60 pages 60. 13 inches x 8 inches. Containing caricatures and cartoons of Tasmanians of Note who have achieved fame in some branch of public or commercial life in this state. The sketches are the work of Alex Gurney, a young Tasmanian artist whose drawings have become familiar through the pages of the Illustrated Tasmanian Mail and other local and Mainland journals. While it is not claimed that they represent by any means all of Tasmania's notable figures, most of the prominent and familiar people of the state are pictured herein and this is, it may be mentioned, the first book of its kind published in the state. On sale next week at the Mercury Office, Hobart and at the leading booksellers. Price 4/- Postage 3d. extra. Cash must accompany all orders.
